🇵🇰 Pakistan 2050: The Manifesto

We believe in Pakistan.

Not as it is, but as it can be.

Pakistan2050 is a movement inspired by eu/acc (european accelerationism by Pieter Levels) and the original e/acc (effective accelerationism by Beff Jezos).

Pakistan2050 believes that advances in science, technology and artificial intelligence can solve our societal issues and build a big future for 🇵🇰. We want to lay out a roadmap for the next 25 years that accelerates us towards this future.

We will crowdsource the largest pool of ideas and solutions for fixing Pakistan by 2050, with technology at the center of this ambition. Please add, comment and upvote your ideas and solutions to our idea board which will be the foundation of this movement.

We must build the Pakistan of 2050, but first we must imagine it.

All our objectives are crowdsourced, and top ideas and solutions will influence the objectives in this list.

  1. The Economic Engine

Create a thriving economic environment by addressing key areas:

  • Eliminate barriers to starting businesses, enable one-day company registration, and provide easier access to capital.

  • Foster export-oriented growth by reforming tax policies and incentivizing domestic investment in technology.

  • Attract global investors by building trust, streamlining regulations, and reducing bureaucracy.

  • Make it easier and safe for local investors to invest in non-traditional investment vehicles like fractional real-estate ownership structures, dividend-based business investments, and peer-to-peer investments.

  1. Global Mobility for Pakistanis

Facilitate seamless movement for Pakistanis across borders:

  • Collaborate with embassies, consulates, and the private sector to simplify visa processes.

  • Promote an inclusive Pakistan on the global stage to encourage inclusivity domestically.

  • Address Pakistan’s diplomatic isolation to prevent internal struggles and ensure international reconciliation.

  1. Upskilling Through Education

Equip Pakistan’s workforce with the skills needed for a tech-driven economy:

  • Make AI, coding, and technology core components of education in schools and universities.

  • Provide urgent upskilling programs to align with global technological advancements.

  • Make access to education easier for the huge youth population of Pakistan through education loans and making education value for money.

  1. Access to Global Marketplaces

Pakistan should take advantage of the global marketplace by making it easy to access, compete, work in, and earn money in the global workforce:

  • Remove bans on VPNs and ensure widespread internet access nationwide for hundreds of thousands of freelancers and tech workers

  • Unblock global social platforms like YouTube and Twitter to foster digital inclusion.

  • Simplify global banking and remittance processes to empower freelancers and businesses to compete on the world stage.

  1. Change the Status Quo

If you are the status quo, you must step aside to allow a movement by the people to find its way to the future it deserves:

  • Remove regulations that present friction or barriers for businesses and technology to thrive.

  • Let a free market reign with technology at its forefront.

  • Eliminate barriers to access data, information, and knowledge sharing.

  • Lower and remove entry barriers into markets dominated by large multinational corporations.

  1. The AI Opportunity

AI is a commodity, and Pakistan must decide whether to be a consumer or innovator in this space:

  • Urgently allocate resources to acquire training clusters to train our own models.

  • Collaborate to improve existing models’ NLP capabilities for native languages and dialects.

  • Ensure AI models can read, write, and understand Urdu and other regional languages to a high standard.

This is our plan to accelerate 🇵🇰 Pakistan.
